11.01.09 - Update Your Bookmarks!

I switched hosting providers recently, and this site's primary URL is now www.thousandstyles.com, so update your bookmarks accordingly. The old URL, www.esotericdesign.biz, will still work for a while, but will eventually be phased out.

I finished this piece a little while back, it's for Killer Kreations - this is going to become an all-over print t-shirt graphic at some point as well. I hope soon, I'd love to get my hands on one of these for myself! Hope you enjoy...

10.20.09 - New Project

Just completed work on a project for Stab and Grab - it started as a custom grip tape design but I think it's going to end up as more than that, maybe some skate decks or clothing of some sort. I'll post some details when I find out what's good. I'll be offering it myself in some way as well, as soon as I get things figured out...

9.14.09 - Interviews

The video is going over very well. Pitchfork.com and Juxtapoz.com have recently posted interviews they've done with the directors of the Raekwon video I did the illustration for. Juxtapoz has always been one of my favorite art magazines and it's great to at least be mentioned in an online interview with some of my work posted. I'm pretty excited about it. Read the interviews here:

8.25.09 - Makin' moves

Just finished a great project - I did all the illustration work for an animated music video for the one Raekwon the Chef from the mighty Wu-Tang Clan. The song is called 'House of Flying Daggers', produced by the late great J DILLA and is the first single from Raekwon's upcoming album, 'Only Built for Cuban Linx 2'. Very cool project to be involved with. I worked with a very small crew of directors, writers and animators, and an extremely tight deadline - we went from concept to completion in less than 4 weeks. It may only be 5 minutes long, but the amount of work involved was insane. But totally worth it - the track is nasty, the verses are tight, and I think the final video looks incredible, especially considering our deadline. I'm gonna try and link it here from youtube:

Direction/Writing/Editing: Erick Sasso & Brian Wendelken (Chain Gang Productions)

Animation/Effects: Ryan Johnson & Drew Taylor

Illustration: 1000styles

I also have a new t-shirt for sale, I think I'll keep things simple and just post it here instead of in the merchandise section. $20 each, plus $3 shipping. Comes in mens sizes only for now (didn't think too many ladies would be into this one), on sky blue, sand, or lavender tees. Hope you enjoy:

6.25.09 - New stuff

Here's a couple skate decks I fused together and painted on. I call it Brain Death:

And here's some t-shirt art (front and back). I did for Killer Kreations, a really nasty airbrush studio in Philly. The gold teeth on the front and the lettering on the back are being printed in gold foil ink:

Some t-shirt art I did for Sullen Clothing in Cali:

A new flyer done for Todd K Tattoo in LA:

A flyer for an house/electro/techno/mashup party recently held here in Syracuse:

This is some album art done for Ceteris Paribus, a compilation of tracks from some very talented electronic music artists:

And last but not least, a portrait I did as part of a larger mural to honor a friend's friend. This was done entirely in spraypaint, no brushes, and is about 7 feet tall:

3.08.09 - Squashed Spraycan

Just painted on a squashed spraycan I found. It's about 6" tall, one of those little mini-cans....

1.24.09 - Long time, no update

Finally got around to prepping some recent work for the site and got it uploaded. Enjoy.

This one's based on characters from the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, 1974. Acrylic on canvas:

Here's an album cover I did for the St8cyde Jump Up D&B crew out of Rochester, NY:

More album work, this time for the Professional Victims and Sean Place:

Some flyer work: for a show I threw with DJ Afar, and for Konkrete Jungle and Vibe 315:

Here's a helmet I painted on for a friend of mine up in Maine. This was awesome to do, gotta do more work like this:

A piece done on some old shutters in acrylic, I call it Brain Damage:

Some recent work done for Bernie Allen - the art for the album reissue, and some t-shirt graphics:

And last but not least, some t-shirt graphics work I did for the Gym Class Heroes:

3.20.08 - More new art

Been relatively productive as of late. I just finished a pretty decent painting, I'll have that up here as soon as I get a good photo of it, and it's already been booked in a show during the month of April. I'm working on some custom painted skate shoes, as well as some new t-shirt graphics for my own 1000styles brand. Hopefully have those projects done and out soon.

Also, my man Nate at Modern Pop Culture just opened up his store (an actual physical store) in Armory Square, downtown Syracuse. I have a bunch of my clothing and art on display and for sale, and he's got several other great indie clothing brands (including his own) and artists on display/sale too. Go check it out and support independent products and people once in a while instead of always taking the easy way out and buying crap from the mall.

Here's some new stuff:

This is the front and back of another flyer recently done for the Upstate chapter of Konkrete Jungle. I'm vending my gear at this event, like the first, so if you're local, come on out, should be a fun party.

Here's another Konkrete Jungle flyer, front and back, for the third event happening 4.5.08:

Here's a flyer I did for Todd K Tattoo out in LA. Go check out his site, he's pretty badass:

Here's a couple new hats I did, sold them both already(thanks Jen!):

Tattoo design for my homeboy Nick:

And another t-shirt graphic, this time for Zero Gravity. The image on the left is a shoulder graphic, the one on the right is the image printed on the opposite corner, along the bottom edge of the shirt, wrapping around under the arm. Zero Gravity will be holding some bboy competitions this summer and fall, and I will hopefully be able to rock some vendor status at those too, so I'll post up when I get some details about that....

1.23.08 - 6 months later

I'm gonna try a different approach to make it easier for me to update. New pieces will be right here in the news section, and the next time I update, those will be moved into the art section to make way for the new pieces. So the art section is going to become kind of an archive. Newest stuff right here:

I painted this on a dickies jacket (first image is on the left chest area, the second image is on the bottom hem on the back of the jacket:

Here's the front of a flyer I did for the first event being held by the Upstate NY chapter of Konkrete Jungle (soon to become t-shirts as well):

Here's another flyer, this one is the front of a flyer being used all over Europe for the current Lifted Music tour, featuring some of the heaviest names in drum and bass right now, like Spor, Chris Renegade, and Apex. I can't wait to do more work for these guys:

Here's a bit from De La Garza's new album, Listening to Ghosts. I did the album art and photography:

Some recent t-shirt graphic work for Killer Kreations out of Philly:

A bass I painted on (thanks Mike, we gotta kick it soon). FOR SALE:

This is that painting I gave away at the Westcott Festival:

And here's a necktie I painted on:

9.26.07 - I don't update too often

Haven't updated in a while. I've been working on a lot of stuff, but a lot of commercial work that I can't make public yet. I'm doing some shirt designs for the Gym Class Heroes and Bernie Allen, and a reworking of the album cover for a re-release of the Bernie Allen project. That should be wrapped up soon and I'll get it on here as soon as I can.

Also I just did the Westcott St. Cultural Fair in Syracuse here, thanks to everyone that came out and bought prints, stickers, and t-shirts. Everyone who spent more than $15 on my stuff was eligible to win a painting I painted live at the festival, it turned out pretty good. I'll have an image of it up on here as soon as I get a decent shot of it.

7.5.07 - New Art & Wallpapers up

Just uploaded 3 new (to this site) pieces of art, on page 8 of the art section. Also 2 new wallpapers free for download in the Downloads section. I'm going to be in an upcoming show with one other artist, Eddie Colelli, in Syracuse sometime in late August/early September. More info to come, we're still working out the details...

6.7.07 - All Graffiti show 6.16.07

There's an all-graffiti art show on June 16th at the white warehouse on South Geddes St. in Syracuse. 30 or so graf writers (local and out of town) will be painting all the walls on the whole third floor of this huge warehouse for the show, it should be out of sight. This is the real shit: free admission, free beer and dope hiphop all night. I did the flyer, it's in the art section, page 8.

2.21.07 - Show this Friday 2.23.07

I'm part of a small one-night club show this friday night 10pm-2am at Mezzanotte Lounge, corner of Division and N. Salina in Syracuse. Downstairs, me and 4-5 other local artists, plus live hiphop DJs and MCs, and possibly some D&B as well. DJ Afar and SON1 on the beats and rhymes, among others. Art by Kid40, Sosa100, Ens1, Tek2, and myself, possibly more. $5 or less to get in. Two for $5 Magic Hats. I plan to have at least a couple new pieces finished and up on the walls that you haven't seen before. Diesel Truckers!

1.26.07 - Hats

Just finished and uploaded 3 new pages of art in the art section. All hats I've painted on. Probably should've just created a new section of the site for the hats, but whatever. Later//

1.24.07 - Mezzanotte

I'm now showing work on a semi-permanent basis at Mezzanotte Lounge on N. Salina St. in Syracuse, along with a few other artists. Some work will be rotated around to other similar venues in the city eventually, as part of a sort-of underground art tour. Right now I have 5 pieces up for sale in the exhibit.

1.23.07 - New Site Up

Finally got the new site launched. Hopefully it'll be a little easier for me to update so I'll be updating more often. We'll see. This section is where I'll be posting news about the site, any upcoming shows I'm in, etc., so check here first. I got some new art up in the art section, some new shirts in the merch section, so check things out elsewhere as well. I'm also on myspace like everyone else, www.myspace.com/esotericdesign, so hit me up there too.

As always, I am available for whatever graphics needs you may have, from t-shirt graphics to album covers, logos, flyers, posters, brochures, web graphics, commissioned fine art, whatever. Email for a quote request or for more information about my services. peace///
